Welcome to National Academy of Petroleum and Explosives Safety (NAPES)

Located at Amravati Road, Gondkhairy, Nagpur, Maharashtra, the National Academy of Petroleum and Explosives Safety (NAPES) is a premier training institution under the aegis of the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO).

NAPES plays a pivotal role in capacity building of PESO officers by offering comprehensive training for the effective enforcement and administration of key legislations e.g. Petroleum Act, 1934, Explosives Act, 1884, Inflammable Substances Act, 1952 and rules framed there under i.e. Petroleum Rules, 2002, Static and Mobile Pressure Vessels (Unfired) Rules, 2016, Gas Cylinder Rules, 2016, Explosives Rules, 2008, Calcium Carbide Rules, 1987 and also includes Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemicals (MSIHC) Rules, 1989 & Chemical Accidents (Emergency Planning, Preparedness and Response) Rules, 1996,  promulgated under Environment (Protection) Act, 1986

NAPES also extends its services to a wide range of external stakeholders. These include industry professionals and operators involved in the handling of petroleum products, explosives, compressed gases, and pressure vessels across India to promote safe practices and regulatory compliance throughout petroleum and explosives sectors.
